Guilty pleasure week this week with some very different songs and styles.  Excellent performances by Matt Cardle, Aiden Grimshaw, Paije Richardson and John Adeleye.

As the weeks go by we’re starting to get more of a feel of which acts can really get up on the stage and hold the crowd.

X Factor 2010 – Live Show 2

All change with the X Factor.  Excellent performances by Matt Cardle, Mary Byrne, Rebecca Ferguson and Treyc Cohen.  John Adeleye upped his game and sang brilliantly and Aidan put in a disappointing performance after last week.   Also, Cher Lloyd actually sang!

With Simon and Dannii both an act down this is what it looked like last night.

X Factor 2010 – Live Final Show 1

October 10, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment

xfactor1With a potentially exciting line up for the first final and the controversy surrounding the show this week, millions of people were no doubt glued to the television for the first X Factor Final.  And we were not disappointed.  This is probably one of the best line ups we’ve had for the X Factor if not the best (allowing for nerves and the occasional flat note!).

Simon has the groups – F.Y.D, Belle Amie, One Direction and wild card Diva Fever.

Cheryl has the girls – Cher Lloyd, Katie Waissel, Rebecca Fergusson and wild card Treyc Cohen

Dannii has the boys – Aiden Grimshaw, Nicolo Festa, Matt Cardle and wild card Paije Richardson

Louis has the over 28’s – Mary Byrne, Storm Lee, John Adeleye and wild card Wagner

F.Y.D – kicked off the proceedings.  Although a little flat in places, it was a good opening song for the evening (Billionaire) and they are no doubt a fun group.

Matt Cardle – Brilliant.  He has a superb voice and can’t wait to hear him throughout the series. He sang When Love Takes Over.

It’s Official – NatWest Staff Are Machines

September 28, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment

I have moaned about NatWest before (and I’m sure it won’t be the last) but my visit today takes the biscuit.

Standing in the queue to meet a real cashier my husband and I were approached by another member of staff to ask if we would like to use the machines in the foyer.  I said no Read more

MrHudsonStraightNoChaserWhile looking around for some new albums to buy, came across Straight No Chaser by Mr Hudson.

I’m just about to order the album and found this track on the album – can’t stop playing it.

Funnily enough this music video was posted onto the web exactly one year ago today.   Meant to be!

Willow Smith-Whip My Hair

Willow Smith, daughter of Will Smith has released a record and apparently is going to sign up to Jay-Z’s record label.

She is only 9 and although there seem to be a number of comments regarding the song being auto tuned and very manufactured . . . who cares.  Most songs are finely tuned and tampered with before being released and this is a great song.

To check it out go to http://www.willowsmith.com/.

If you were in a night club and this was playing loud I would defy anyone to not want to get up and dance to it.

She may be in a privileged position with her dad having the right contacts but it sounds like she has picked up on Will’s talent.  I just hope it’s not too much too soon.

Kelly Clarkson – My Life Would Suck Without You

kellyclarksonallieverwantedForgotten about this fab track.  This is from her album All I Ever Wanted.

Think it’s probably time to buy the latest album.

It looks as though it will be as good as Breakaway, probably even better.

By the way does anyone else think she looks a bit like Jennifer Aniston in this video?

Tesco – Every Little Helps – Unless It’s Customer Service

September 5, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment

tescoFor a company that goes all out to entice customers into their stores, with their ‘every little helps’ tag line and numerous voice overs from stars, I’m afraid the level of customer service is going down hill.

And funnily enough it appears to be coming from management outside of the branches.  Read more
