Muse – Uprising

A great track by a great group.
Although I’ve heard of the group I’d not equated their music to the band. It was only watching X Factor Australia that I heard this song and worked through Amazon to find the band and the song. Their albums are now on my birthday wish list.
Mr Hudson – White Lies

While looking around for some new albums to buy, came across Straight No Chaser by Mr Hudson.
I’m just about to order the album and found this track on the album – can’t stop playing it.
Funnily enough this music video was posted onto the web exactly one year ago today. Meant to be!

Willow Smith-Whip My Hair

Willow Smith, daughter of Will Smith has released a record and apparently is going to sign up to Jay-Z’s record label.
She is only 9 and although there seem to be a number of comments regarding the song being auto tuned and very manufactured . . . who cares. Most songs are finely tuned and tampered with before being released and this is a great song.
To check it out go to http://www.willowsmith.com/.
If you were in a night club and this was playing loud I would defy anyone to not want to get up and dance to it.
She may be in a privileged position with her dad having the right contacts but it sounds like she has picked up on Will’s talent. I just hope it’s not too much too soon.
Kelly Clarkson – My Life Would Suck Without You

Forgotten about this fab track. This is from her album All I Ever Wanted.
Think it’s probably time to buy the latest album.
It looks as though it will be as good as Breakaway, probably even better.
By the way does anyone else think she looks a bit like Jennifer Aniston in this video?

This track entered the charts last week and is now at number 11. Chris Daughtry was in the 5th American Idol series and came fourth.
This is an nice easy track and is from his self named band Daughtry.
Their album Leave This Town is a great rock album. Listen to snippets below.
The Temper Trap – Live in Birmingham
September 29, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
The Temper Trap playing live at the Hare and Hounds Pub, Kings Heath, Birmingham – Monday 28th September 2009 supported by Goldhawks.
Promoted by Birmingham Promoters.
What a fantastic night. Still can’t believe we’ve been to see them, with all the anticipation waiting for the night to come, it seemed to be over in a flash. They played songs from the album Conditions and had the crowd rocking.
Having seen them live it now seems to make the CD sound even better and far more special.

Temper Trap sound as good live, if not better, than the CD itself, which really says something about the talent of this band.
Dougie is the main vocals
Lorenzo (left) on guitar
Jonathon (right) on bass
Toby on drums (can just make him out at the back)

And of course not forgetting their support band Goldhawks who were equally as fabulous. Will definitely buy their album and would go and see them in concert again.
New York by Paloma Faith

New in the top 40 charts is this record from Paloma Faith. Called New York, it went straight in at no 21.
Sounds like quite an interesting character. Amongst other things she has been a magicians assistant, appeared in the new Terry Gilliam film “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus” and appeared in the St Trinian’s film as Andrea the Emo.
Interesting and lovely voice. Very listenable (is that even a word?)
Her new album is out now called Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful.
Click on the picture left for more information.
To hear snippets from the album you can hear them below.
On some of the tracks she sounds like a cross between Duffy and Amy Winehouse (this is a compliment as both artists are good).
Favourite tracks at the moment are Smoke and Mirrors and Play On, but to be honest they all sound brilliant.

Thanks to Clarepip on Twitter for introducing this singer who goes by the name of ortopilot.
He has a beautiful voice and this version of Hallelujah is truly haunting.
Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon

I may be a little behind with this song, but I only heard it for the first time when being sung by Jamie Archer on the X Factor (who sang it brilliantly).
Below are snippets of the album.
