Supernova by Mr Hudson ft Kanye West

Currently at number three in the charts, this is a great track. His voice is pure and crisp to listen to ie you can actually make out what he’s singing. Always good.
By all accounts Mr Hudson is a multi-talented singer/songwriter from Birmingham, England. One up for the Brummies!

The Temper Trap – Conditions

This has to be the best debut album for a band I’ve heard in a long time. This Australian band has something fantastic – an album where the songs don’t all sound the same.
That may sound strange, but having looked at a few albums to put on the site recently, I’ve just got bored with the same -iness (is that a word?)
This album/band is a great mixture of rock, a little bit of INXS, a touch of Coldplay, a little bit of Erasure in one of the songs and a lot of brilliant natural talent.
The album is released on August 10th 2009 – can’t wait. Update: Love the music so much have just bought 2 tickets to see them live in September on their UK tour!
Turn up the volume to listen to this album. Current favourite tracks are Love Lost, Fader and Fools.
Check out a sample of the songs on the album in the Featured Music section or click below. Album tracks are:
- Love Lost
- Rest
- Sweet Disposition
- Down River
- Soldier On
- Fader
- Fools
- Resurrection
- Science Of Fear
- Drum Song
Pitbull – I Know You Want Me
July 31, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Pitbull is an American Rapper from Miami, Florida – real name Armando Christian Perez.
Heard this on the radio the other day and immediately thought of pulsating, throbbing night clubs. This song turned up loud is very sexy especially when you hear the lyrics:
“I know you want me, you know I want you”
Can imagine it being played at the end of the evening.
He’s bought out at least 4 albums. Most of them have explicit lyrics so not ones I’ll be posting here (just in case!). Click on the links shown for more details and reviews.
M.I.A.M.I (Money is a Major Issue)
Rebelution – out September this year.
Rockin’ Women 1
July 19, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Below is a new selection of music that was originally under Featured Music.
It’s called Rockin’ Women 1 because all these artists are fabulous and combined they bring a selection of ballads and rock. Oh yes and a little bit of country. See if you can guess which one.
There’s a mix of new and older artists. By older I’m not insulting their age, I’m referring to how long they’ve been singing.
There are many more brilliant female artists of course, but that gives me chance to do Rockin’ Women 2 and so on.
Click play to hear:-
- Pink – So What
- Annie Lennox – Shining Light
- Kelly Clarkson – My Life Would Suck Without You
- Beyonce – Halo
- Katy Armiger – Gone
- Bonnie Tyler – Total Eclipse of the Heart
- Shontelle – T-Shirt
- Taylor Swift – Love Story
- Alesha Dixon – Breathe Slow
- Leona Lewis – Homeless
A Girl Called Eddy

While browsing through some albums, I came across this one entitled A Girl Called Eddy by the artist of the same name. It’s melodic and very easy to listen to.
Her actual name is Erin Moran and she ’s an American-born singer-songwriter.
The songs on this album would be great as background chill-out music.
Invite a few friends over, sip a cold glass of wine and have a good old gossip with this album playing quietly. Very peaceful.
It’s also very romantic.
Here’s a snippet from the album which actually came out in 2004.
I’ve chosen 4 tracks that stand out (for me anyway).
- Golden
- Somebody Hurt You
- People Used to Dream About The Future
- Little Bird
Praise for this album includes:
“This is the extraordinary debut album of A Girl Called Eddy, brimming with romance, hypnotic beauty and languid melodies.singer and as a lyricist throughout.”
” . . . . . this record has been welded to the CD player since its purchase.”
“It’s rare to find a new talent so fully formed and satisfying. I can’t remember the last time I stumbled upon something new which was so crushingly beautiful.”
V V Brown – Shark in The Water

This song has just hit the charts at no 38.
VV Brown is only 25 and is known for her quirky looks and style.
She is a singer, a songwriter, a performer, multi-instrumentalist and a producer, who first came to attention after landing an upfront slot on Later With Jools Holland.
The song is taken from her debut album entitled Travelling Like The Light.
Agnes – Release Me

Although this is heading back down the charts at the moment, it’s still a good song.
In this picture Agnes looks like a cross between Sandra Bullock and J Lo, not a bad combination.
Pixie Lott – Mama Do (uh oh, uh oh)

It must be the time for great women singers at the moment. Hot on the heels of hearing Sophie Ellis Bextor’s great new single, I heard this one. Okay I’m probably a bit late in hearing it because it’s in the charts, but nevertheless it’s got a good beat!
Her new album ‘Turn It Up’ will be out in September 2009.

A great disco beat.
