Well today has been a good day. Firstly I had responses regarding my email from all three parties that I had written to, two of them being MP’s, so that made me feel empowered.
But better than that we’ve started on the design for the website - yippee!! It’s only on a local machine at the moment so is not for public viewing, but I am really excited by what we did.
By we, I mean my husband has started it, I just sit back giving the instructions. By giving instructions I mean I keep asking him what he thinks!
All we really did tonight (which took well over an hour to do I might add) was attach the logo to the new template we had purchased, but the colours couldn’t have been matched better if I had tried.
I know that is only our opinion but it’s a good feeling to know that they go together. It already has the feel to it I wanted, so that is a tick in that box and my husband agrees.
Now, all I have to do is crack on with the content, as the next stage is deciding what menu buttons I need and the categories for the site itself.
I have to say though that I needed to see this tonight as it puts it more and more into perspective.

Hi Blog writer,
Just read your update looking for more juicy stuff and hoping that you were getting closer to being up and running. What plans do you have for the interaction between would be readers and this website and how will it be different. What plans do you have to advertise it if any?

Hi
Thanks for the questions and good ones they are!
My timescale has been put back for several reasons but I am aiming for three months time (or less) to have it up and running.
I can have the site ready within a couple of weeks, but I need a good catalogue of articles ready to line up. As you will appreciate a website always needs to look fresh and you can’t do that without constantly updating it.
I am relying on my writers to provide me with a huge amount of text but until I have a lot more from them this will be difficult.
In terms of interaction between the website and readers, there will be two main ways to begin with. Firstly, there will be a forum so topics of interest can be discussed and commented on. Secondly there will be a chance for people to email me directly with articles, questions and information.
The plans for advertising are in place but I am nowhere near ready to start it yet. Until I have enough information to keep the website fresh and lively, I can’t even start it. Hopefully the blog will be the first advertising, but I will deal with this in more detail in a later blog, if that’s okay. It would be too wordy for a reply.
Thanks again for the questions, it’s great to feel I have to be on my toes!!
