A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they were on the way to church service,

"And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?"

One bright little girl replied,

"Because people are sleeping."

I had been teaching my three-year old daughter, Caitlin, the Lord’s Prayer for several evenings at bedtime. She would repeat after me the lines from the prayer. Finally, she decided to go solo. I listened with pride as she carefully enunciated each word, right up to the end of the prayer:

"Lead us not into temptation," she prayed,

"but deliver us from E-mail."

Goals and Objectives

Monday, November 6th, 2006

I have now set my goals with my on-line coach for the next 6 - 12 months.  The first three are not what I call Smart objectives, but they are things I need to achieve in order to push me forward.

So for the first 6 months I need to:

  1. Become more organised.
  2. Improve ability to absorb information.  I hear but I don’t always listen (and I don’t read things properly).
  3. Learn how to use photo-shop to help my husband turn ideas into successful products, that will bring in money.

I have actually broken this down for my first week into goals to see how I get on with keeping them.

  1. Make sure I keep all family appointments - dentist, hearing test, parents evening.
  2. Write an email to request profiles of Top Team (this is for the Imwags site).
  3. Help my husband to write emails for his product launch.
  4. Do 1 hour’s ironing.
  5. Write up an action plan to start work on all the areas I would like to achieve in over the next 6 - 12 months.
  6. Keep smiling even when really, really tired.

Keeping this positive, I am looking forward to achieving all these goals this week.  Will report on this next week.

The Playground Mafia by Sarah Tucker

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

I just loved this book and had difficulty putting it down.  It made me visualise the characters, cheer for the ‘goodies’ and cringe at the women who were classed as the mafia.

For any parent who has to do the daily school run and knows about the ‘politics’ in the playground this is a must.  It’s funny and has some laugh out loud moments.

The story is about Caroline who is  newly divorced with a son Ben and has moved to the trendy area of Frencham where she joins up with her long-time best friends Heather and Eva.

If settling in to a new life is bad enough, settling in to a new school is even worse (and that’s just for the mums!).

In between recruiting people to the PTA activities and dominating life at school, the mafia also have a gossip radar which they are not afraid to use.  But when the mafia target Caroline and her friend Heather a battle ensues and they bite off more than they can chew.

I enjoyed the Playground Mafia so much I am now looking to read Sarah Tucker’s other books.

Interesting Times

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

Well it’s been an interesting few days.  My other website www.imwags.com looks as though it could take off with the feedback I’ve been getting.

I now need to take stock of everything and decide on firm goals for both this site and IMWAGs.

But I am starting to feel really motivated by everything although time is still the issue as evenings are the only time I can work.  I’ve just finished reading another great book which I am just working on the review for, I have more writing coming in and my friend, who you may remember is on the strict diet is almost on target.  Wow!
