Is It That Time of Year?
Saturday, December 2nd, 2006I love Christmas and all that goes with it. Apart from the Christmas shopping, writing Christmas cards and stressing about presents!
I’ve been planning on doing the Christmas shopping since October but haven’t got very far. As a family we seem to have had a run on illness this last few weeks. Even me, I’m normally the one that childhood bugs avoid, but not this last couple of months.
That tells me I am down a bit at the moment. The lack of sleep must be taking it’s toll on the immune system, which is a bit of a kick in the pants to say - give yourself a break.
I was supposed to meet up with my best friends this week and couldn’t because of illness and I can’t have that!. So in amongst the goals I am setting for myself, I need to write in ‘me’ time. Complete ‘me’ time at that. It’s easier said than done, but for the sake of being a happy, calm mummy, I need to do it.
As women, we tend to put family first, which is fine, but we can only operate if our batteries are fully charged too. I’ll let you know what I come up with.
Do you know what I really fancy doing though? Finding a slope in a local park, taking a huge piece of cardboard, which I happen to have and sliding down it with my children.
I used to do it when I was little and have a sudden urge to do it again. As long as the grass isn’t too wet or the cardboard will be a little shredded. ![]()
