I don’t eat much chocolate, but today, I bought the girls chocolate Smarties bars and the boy, Magic Stars. I could have eaten the lot but wasn’t quick enough!

My Mum died the year before we moved to Ireland (to the day)

I brought a clematis from her garden which was still in the pot. She’s bought it just before she became ill with ovarian cancer. She died six weeks later.

Every time I see the pale pink flowers in full bloom, I know she’s here in Ireland watching us…
