Just come back from visiting mom. She looked a lot better than this afternoon when she appeared to be quite grey, still not completely with it from the anaesthetic and having to cope with two ‘jokers’ for daughters. Humour is our outlet I’m afraid to say.
Her wound keeps bleeding but that’s not uncommon in these procedures (apparently) and her blood pressure was really low. However, having eaten a little tea tonight and drinking as much fluid as she can, the blood pressure is slowly rising.
My eldest son (who loves his nan to bits) came with my sister and I tonight. Mom gave him ‘nurse’ duties by letting him press the morphine button and topping up her water.
He had also written a really lovely card, straight from the heart.
My sis and I are totally shattered tonight, but relieved all is well. I really didn’t pick the best weeks to be targetting the accounts. This week will be taken up with hospital visits and last week we were looking round senior schools.
Will I ever get the damn things done?
