I HAVE FINISHED THE ACCOUNTS - YIPPEE, WOOP DE DOO, HURRAH, WOOHOO!!!!!!!

That’s all I can say for tonight, I am a bit tired now!!

But, have I learnt my lesson and won’t leave it all until the last minute next time?  Course not.  But to be honest I am now exhausted and can’t think of looking at another spreadsheet for a few days at least.

My target was to finish by tonight as my sister goes home next week and it will then be up to me to help mom out after her hip operaton.  She is doing well by the way.  A bit pale, a bit anaemic but being a good girl and playing by the rules (well almost).

My house looks like I’ve been burgled and then they came back to have another go.  I have 6 baskets of ironing.  My children keep asking me for clean pants and socks and I know they’ve been washed but not sure which pile I put them in.

The accounts have taken over my whole life and everything else had to stop.  The embarassing thing is my aim is to tackle the house next week, but sadly not in time for someone to call at our house today.

Hubby and I had stayed up until 3.30 am working last night (or should that be this morning).  At 11.00 am I was still in my nightie, hubby had only just got up and the children were running round the house in just their pants.

The visitor was an old family friend on their way to see mom and had got lost.  He stepped inside the house with me cringing as I realised that on top of one of the several piles of clothes around my house (this one being in the hall amid the piles of other crap on the floor), was my padded pink bra in full view!

I couldn’t even be bothered to try and hide it as quite frankly I had given up all hope of trying to show I was even a bit organised.   Well how could I  - standing there in my dressing gown, not even showered, with bed hair.  At least I’d cleaned my teeth!

The fact that I had done all the accounts doesn’t really help when someone is standing in the sty that passes for your home.  Oh well never mind, it will give him something to talk about and be scared about for weeks to come.

So my good internet friends I am back and will be popping round your blogs in the next few days.

Just come back from visiting mom.  She looked a lot better than this afternoon when she appeared to be quite grey, still not completely with it from the anaesthetic and having to cope with two ‘jokers’ for daughters. Humour is our outlet I’m afraid to say.

Her wound keeps bleeding but that’s not uncommon in these procedures (apparently) and her blood pressure was really low.  However, having eaten a little tea tonight and drinking as much fluid as she can, the blood pressure is slowly rising.

My eldest son (who loves his nan to bits) came with my sister and I tonight.  Mom gave him ‘nurse’ duties  by letting him press the morphine button and topping up her water.

He had also written a really lovely card, straight from the heart.

My sis and I are totally shattered tonight, but relieved all is well.  I really didn’t pick the best weeks to be targetting the accounts.  This week will be taken up with hospital visits and last week we were looking round senior schools.

Will I ever get the damn things done?

Thanks for the supportive messages while I’m trying to get the accounts done.

Just thought you may like to know my mom had her hip operation today!  More details later after seeing her.  We know she is back on the ward but can’t visit for a couple of hours yet.

Back to the accounts then!!
