Well Leon won the X Factor. I am so surprised, but as my husband pointed out, by last night it wasn’t about talent it was about favouritism.
The songs were going well until they were joined by the ’stars’. It just didn’t have the same magic as last year when Westlife and Take That joined the show.
Jason Donovan (great to see him back) slightly overpowered Same Difference, Katherine Jenkins definitely overpowered Rhydian and what was up with Kylie in that outfit? She looked remarkably wrinkle free too.
Rhydian would have sounded fantastic with Westlife and I must admit was disappointed when Katherine came out to sing with him.
I also thought the judges did not promote Rhydian as they usually had. I might be wrong but it seemed like they wanted Leon to win. Maybe this was to give him something to leave the show with, whereas Rhydian should have a massive career from joining the X Factor.
It seemed like it was prearranged. And by the way did anyone else have trouble getting through to Rhydian’s vote line?

I thought it was a terrible and biased show. I felt very sorry for Rhydian…don’t think he was at his best but Somewhere was spectacular again. Still I have no doubt he wil have a long career, but I fear Leon will forgotten quite quickly, unless he improves a lot with further vocal training etc.
We didn’t actually try to vote but there are loads of people on the web saying they couldn’t get through…surely they wouldn’t be stupid enough to have engineered another ITV voting scandal?
I can only assume that by fixing it that way Simon Cowell thinks he is going to make more money…Leon will probably sell records as the winner but would not have as runner up.
Very disappointing.

Cathy, I am in total agreement with you. Rhydian is definitely the money earner. I don’t think Leon will have such a long career and I don’t like the song they chose.
The more I hear about the show and how Simon pulls the strings, you do have to wonder don’t you?
Somewhere was a fantastic song and I loved Holy Night too.
I felt very sorry for Rhydian but do think he is the real and true winner.
